在材质的选择上,要避免选择到材质成分分布不均匀或某元素的含量不合格的劣质材质,防止弹簧在实际使用中发生变形或断裂。

根据实际的工况选择合适的压缩弹簧材质,例如油淬火钢丝更适合动载荷,而琴钢丝为代表的弹簧钢则更适合静载荷。不锈钢或特殊合金更适合于不同温度中使用,选择错误材质的弹簧会导致弹簧变形或断裂。
